- Negligent design of highway bridge so as to impede water flow, causing increased upstream flooding by approximately 7 feet in a 25 year rainfall event, consequential flooding of home, barns, fields, chicken houses, as well as downstream flooding as water sought to reach its original stream bed after circumventing the bridge obstruction.

NURSING HOME CLAIMS
PLAINTIFF'S CASES:
- Patient drowned in bath tub unsupervised.
- Patient froze to death after being transferred from one ward of a nursing home to another. Proper patient census paperwork did not follow the patient. Patient exited an unalarmed door into sub-freezing night temperatures and was not noted to be absent.
- Patient with Huntington's Chorea was not supervised. Spasm caused patient to slide partially out of bed and hang by her neck, waist, and ankle, on the side of the bed until she developed rhabdomyolysis causing kidney failure from which she died.
- Immobile post-surgical patient who was burned by placing his bed to close to a radiator, followed by infection resulting in death.
- Multiple plaintiffs. Abuse and neglect resulting in bedsores, infection and pain, death, failure to properly supervise patients, resulting in falling injuries and fractures. Dropping patients during transport resulting in fractures.
DEFENDANTS CASES:
- Mentally ill orderly deliberately set fire to patient resulting in death, failure to investigate employee background. Plaintiff failed to recover on agency theory, and did not allege negligent hiring issues.
